France CFA (Reunion) Postage
1949 to 1975
Reunion was a colony of France and began to issue their own stamps in 1865. It became an equal partner in the French Republic in 1947, and began to use stamps of France overprinted “CFA” for postage. In 1975, stamps of France replaced those inscribe or overprint “CFA”. “CFA” means Colonie Francaise Afrique.

ReplyDeleteI have a 15f 1949 reunion stamp without the CFA overprint. Used, hard to make out post mark, but part of it is "DAUX-SEVRERS" ...?
ReplyDeleteThe Reunion stamp overprints CFA are used French stamp. The stamp depicts Marianne issued in 1949 as shown above are a completed set. In case 15f inscribed Deux Sevres was used in France.
